The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has indicated that Eid ul Adha is expected to be celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2024. According to data from the Climate Data Processing Centre, the new crescent moon for Dhul-Hijjah is predicted to form on June 6 at 5:38 PM.

“The moon will be 26 hours and 8 minutes old by the time the sun sets in Karachi,” stated the PMD, also mentioning that “the crescent should be visible for approximately 72 minutes after sunset.” The PMD explained that a moon must be at least 19 hours old to be sighted.
An official announcement regarding the exact date of Eid ul Adha will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee soon.
Additionally, the establishment division has announced that public holidays will be observed from June 17 to June 19 in celebration of Eid ul Adha. The federal and provincial governments are expected to issue formal notifications about these holidays shortly before the festivities begin.
