In a bid to uphold security and orderliness during the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj 2024, Saudi Arabia has enacted stringent measures concerning unauthorized vehicles’ access to holy sites.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Security department recently announced a series of measures aimed at ensuring a smooth and secure Hajj 2024 experience for all pilgrims. Effective immediately, unauthorized vehicles are strictly prohibited from entering the holy sites, with enforcement in effect from midnight on the fifth of Dhu Al-Hijjah until the culmination of the 13th day.

According to the directives issued by the Public Security department, individuals found transporting pilgrims without valid Hajj 2024 permits will face severe penalties. Offenders could potentially face imprisonment for a period of up to 6 months and hefty fines amounting to SAR50,000 for each unauthorized pilgrim transported. Furthermore, court rulings may include additional punitive measures such as the confiscation of the vehicle used and deportation of the transporter, if they are a resident, with an accompanying entry ban determined by the authorities.

Similarly, pilgrims lacking valid Hajj permits themselves will also face consequences. Those found without the required permits will be subject to fines amounting to SAR10,000. For residents, this penalty will be followed by deportation and a temporary entry ban in accordance with the regulatory framework.

The Public Security department underscores the critical importance of strict adherence to Hajj regulations and instructions. By ensuring compliance, they aim to create a secure, safe, and comfortable environment conducive to the spiritual journey of all pilgrims.

In a related development, Saudi Arabia has also introduced innovative measures to enhance the pilgrimage experience. Among these initiatives is the deployment of smart robot services in Madinah to assist pilgrims visiting the Prophet’s Mosque. This project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Health branch in Madinah province, involves strategically positioning robots in the courtyard adjacent to the Prophet’s Mosque. These robots serve as a platform for displaying and broadcasting educational messages, guidance, and health instructions in over 96 languages from around the world. By leveraging technology, Saudi Arabia aims to promote safety, awareness, and inclusivity among pilgrims, thereby enriching their spiritual journey.
