Misbah-ul-Haq Criticizes Pakistan Cricket Team’s Lack of Planning

Former Pakistan chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has voiced his concerns about the national team management following their surprising defeat to the USA in the T20 World Cup Super Over.

Known for his tactical expertise, Misbah expressed frustration over the team’s apparent lack of preparation and strategy during key moments of the match.

During a talk show, Misbah highlighted the confusion within the team over crucial decisions. “Pakistan had no idea who should bowl,” he remarked.

He pointed out the indecision in choosing between Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir for the Super Over. “We didn’t even have a plan for two overs. Our strategy changed after every ball. We had no clue who to send with Iftikhar Ahmed in the Super Over. We were lost.”

The defeat to the less experienced USA team, who were making their debut in the T20 World Cup, has sparked intense debate.

Misbah praised the American team’s superior fitness, speed, and alertness. “The US team was better in fitness, speed, and vigilance than Pakistan,” he noted, stressing the need for improvement in these areas.

This criticism comes at a time when the Pakistan cricket team is under heavy scrutiny for their performance against the USA, where they lost in the Super Over.

Misbah’s comments reflect growing concerns about the team’s strategic planning. The USA, a debutant team, now has 4 points from 2 matches in the T20 World Cup.

Pakistan will face arch-rivals India on June 9 at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in a must-win match for Babar Azam’s team.
